Nancy Fitz-Rapalje

Nancy Fitz-Rapalje, based in Bellows Falls, Vermont, presents three paintings from her “Orchis Quattro” series. In these works, Fitz-Rapalje employs her well known top down perspective, although in these pieces they do have a horizon. The same orchid in bloom is painted from three different angles, and on three different color surfaces, and in three different temperatures and intensity of light. This collection of paintings reveals an intimate view of the solitary life of a dedicated oil painter, observing the everyday objects surrounding her in the studio.
