Canal Street Art Gallery presents: VERMONT SUMMER GROUP SHOW All Mediums, All Subjects, All Art opens JUNE 19th, on view to the public through SEPTEMBER 12th.
All are invited to our Virtual Gallery Event on Bellows Falls 3rd Friday Gallery Night! We will be LIVE Online on FaceBook at 6PM JUNE 19th. You can also visit the Gallery’s Online Viewing Room, open all the time on our website. Go to http://canalstreetartgallery.com to experience this new interactive format. Canal Street Art Gallery is also pleased to now offer Private Appointments, Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm, during our regular scheduled business hours.
The VERMONT SUMMER GROUP SHOW is Canal Street Art Gallery’s 3rd Annual open call to regional artists, showing artworks in all mediums, styles, and subject matters. The exhibition celebrates the diversity and abundance of local art here in Southern Vermont. The Gallery is especially excited to host our VERMONT SUMMER GROUP SHOW during this time of postponements and cancelations throughout the world. There is always a need to support the making, sharing, and seeing of art; and to promote creativity, and free self expression. It has been a struggle to champion our efforts to bring you local art, and we are fortunate to have been able to install our shows in our physical space. Continuing our mission is possible by sharing virtually through our many, brand new, online initiatives and outlets. Our website based viewing rooms, social media, and online sales with Artcloud have allowed for the finding and buying of local artwork! Yet, the in-person experience that one has with art remains paramount. Fortunately, we can now offer Private Appointments for groups of up to four people to be in the Gallery during regular operating hours.
The nineteen Artists and their mediums in this year’s show include: Clare Adams, enamel painted glass; Penelope Arms, oil and acrylic painting; Zoee Blossom, cyanotype prints; Jean Cannon, oil and acrylic painting; Sloane Dawson, found object sculpture; Spaulding Dunbar, original photography, Carolyn Enz Hack, metal and mixed media sculpture; Nancy Fitz-Rapalje, oil painting; Kim Grall, painted mixed media sculpture; Felicity Haselton, mixed media painting; Deedee Jones, pastel painting; Carol Keiser, acrylic painting; Susan MacNeil, acrylic painting; Jeanne McMahan, oil painting; Lisa Eckhardt McNealus, acrylic painting; Charles Norris-Brown, ink drawing, ink wash, and watercolor painting; MC Noyes, oil painting; Rodrica Tilley, pastel painting; Kathleen Zimmerman, serigraphic prints.
This month’s Virtual Gallery Event, to replace the Opening Reception typically held in the Gallery, takes place on Canal Street Art Gallery’s FaceBook Page. The Private Appointments for groups of no more than four people in the Gallery have been very popular! They are scheduled in one-hour time slots to allow for all common spaces, frequently touched surfaces and doors to be disinfected between Private Appointments. The Gallery staff are available remotely or outside the retail space only. All transactions are conducted electronically via email, or telephone, with curbside pick-up. Please wear face coverings, and observe physical distancing. Canal Street Art Gallery was begun in order to fulfill the need for a stand-alone gallery in the Town of Rockingham, Vermont. In doing so, it has provided the opportunity for many artists in the area to exhibit in a centralized location. Visitors feel it is a beautiful space along the canal for creative incubation, conversation and the appreciation of fine art.
Canal Street Art Gallery is located at 23 Canal Street in the Historic Downtown Village of Bellows Falls, Vermont, and is open by Appointment Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
